Taking care of
50 children is an exhausting and expensive proposition in any country.
Sometimes Ruth and Raj have enough support to hire a cook and a
caretaker. Sometimes they don't. With Ruth well into her second
pregnancy, it is obvious that she needs all the help she can get.
But the money needs to be there to pay the help. Each child costs
about $20 a month to take care of. And your money goes a lot further
in India than it does almost anywhere else in the world. For example,
the conversion rate for US dollars into Indian rupees generally
runs about 44 to 1. That means that a $20 donation converts into
880 rupees. And in India, a rupee is worth about what a dollar is
worth in the US. A cook for example, costs about 1,500 rupees a
month. That's like paying them $1,500 a month in the US. That means
that your donation of $34.00 pays the cook's salary! Below
we have the pictures and names of each of the children. Take a close
look, and pray about being a sponsor each month to "adopt"
one of these precious boys and girls who love the Lord with all
their heart! And don't worry about the one you pick being "taken"
already. There will always be another child who needs to know about
Jesus, and who will grow up loving Him because you loved them! Ruth
and Raj will arrange for letters to go back and forth between you
and your "adopted" child. And, who knows which one of
these precious children, orphaned by the death of parents or abandoned
by relatives, might have the cure to cancer or other greatness inside
their mind, if only they were given a chance! Just click on the
